The city:

  • Ushuaia is the capital of the province of Tierra de Fuego which is in the Antarctic and South Atlantic Islands. It is best known as "The world´s southernmost city" or "The city at the end of the world" ("La Ciudad mas austral del mundo" or "La ciudad del fin del mundo").
  • There are about 45.000 inhabitants, and it has a landmass of 9.309 km². It is located between the Martial Mountains and the Beagle channel, a great location to enjoy the glaciers, woods, sea and high mountains. There are some interesting attractions in the city including The Jail at the End of the World. The name Ushuaia comes from the Yámanas´ natives language: Ush (at heart) and wuaia (bay).

The School

Our school in Ushuaia is a ten-minute walk distance from the center of the city, right by the port. Our teachers use excellent teaching methods to share their knowledge and expertise in an excellent learning atmosphere which is beneficial for the students. The school has 14 classrooms equipped with the best video, audio and TV equipment, a computer lab with Internet access, along with a kitchen, and a comfortable lounge (common area) where you can rest and relax while taking a break.

Spanish Courses in Ushuaia

  • Intensive group course: 20 group classes/week
  • One to One private course: 10 classes/week

Timetable

Classes consist of four 55-minute lessons a day in groups of no more than 7 students. The course is complemented by extra-curricular activities, which students may do in their free time. Classes are divided into two parts with a break of twenty minutes.

Accommodation

Carefully selected families, located within 10 to 25 minutes from the school, offer you single rooms with half board. Laundry service is optional. Most houses have beautiful architecture, green backyards and pools.

Activities and Excursions

The locals enjoy outdoor activities and sipping hot chocolate by the port. Summer is the ideal season to challenge yourself with every kind of outdoor sport like fishing, cycling, hiking, rock climbing and more. Winter is also a great time to go snowboarding and skiing.There are ½ day activities which include city tours and visits to the Museo del fin del Mundo (The Museum at the end of the World) and Ushuaia Bay. There are also one day activities like trips to "End of the world Train", "Cerro Castor" and "Martial Glacier." Weekend activities are also available where you can go to see the Fagnano and Escondido Lakes, the Tierra del Fuego national park, and the Beagle Channel are also avalible.
